The factors influencing the testing of your mobile app

The testing of your mobile app can be fraught with issues. You may find that you need to spend more time in the testing phase than anticipated, or you may have confined your testing thus far to that of the functional nature, only to realize later the importance of other types of testing. Prototypes professionals in mobile app development in Dubai recognize themselves how vital a project's QA phase is and how much attention it deserves from the very start of a project.

Comprehensive app testing should be carefully considered right at the start of the implementation. Developers usually have few issues contemplating the benefits of functional testing but there are ways of extracting the maximum potential from it. It's a good idea when the project starts for a team to write up test cases concerning an app's functionality. Having test stage documentation ready at this early stage allows the requirement to be better understood while also revealing potential scenarios that the requirement gathering phase might not have focused on.

Usability is another vital factor in mobile app testing. All members of the team should be in no doubt about the difference between 'User Interface' and 'User Experience'. While the former entails finding bugs with the visual elements of a User Interface the User Experience also needs to be well-understood by testers covering such perspectives as animation touch and gestures used the demographics of users and so on. All of these elements make it a pressing need for usability testing to be considered before a project starts.

An app's performance is another often underestimated factor in testing given the short attention spans of mobile users - or rather the ease with which they can have such a short attention span given the competition. The quicker your app is the better and testing in this area can focus on such areas as local caching web service communication and media streaming optimization. Likewise many smartphone users delete apps from their devices due to the sheer battery juice they consume so the minimization of battery consumption should be a key consideration at the technical design stage.

These are just some of the factors that should be carefully considered long before the actual testing and which are therefore central to Prototype's own process of mobile app development in Dubai.
